Half way through my degree!

Saturday, 17 August 2013

Last night we had our half way day celebration! We are officially 2.5 years through our 5 year degree, phew. It will be over before we know it and then all of a sudden I will be treating patients. I both crave and dread that day. I am not a very confident person so I know I will always be second guessing myself about my decisions in treating my patients, but I figure that is far better than being overconfident especially when dealing in the health care profession?

I won't bore you with words, here are some pictures! As usual we were in a rush to get there on time for 6:30pm so I made do with taking selfies in the car. Upon arriving, not a soul was there! We then realised the event was actually at 7, what noobs -__-. Felt a tad uncool.

I went for a strong golden smokey eye to compliment my dress for the night. For some reason I think I look very strange in these pictures- perhaps I'm not used to wearing heavier makeup these days because I hardly go out! My earrings are from Forever New, bought on sale for $3. Fun fact- I wore the same earrings when I won Miss Chinese WA 2012!

I decided on wearing an angelic short flowy dress that I bought 6 years ago on a whim from Topshop. I think I've only worn this dress 3 times in total, but I love the delicate pleats and simple cut of the piece. And I was doubly glad I made use of it because our tutors picked me for the best dressed girl award! *flattered* I got a signed certificate with our University crest on it haha! Feeling so blessed lately :)

Now for some group photos. Everyone here is a chiro cat, don't you think our year is exceptionally good looking?!

The night exceeded my expectations, everyone had so much fun chatting to our tutors and other students we don't normally talk to. There was an embarrassing slideshow that included everyone's good and bad pictures and some long lost videos of some of our Norwegian boys dancing. Don't ask :P. I wasn't drinking because I had work in the early morning, but everyone was pretty smashed in the true Aussie fashion. But at the end of the night my cheeks hurt from laughing so much!

I'm back from work now but I'm super tired- now I'm off to have lunch with a friend and later attend my cousins birthday dinner! Have a smashing weekend everyone!
