New Hair + Ombre Lips! Caramel Blonde?

Saturday, 21 September 2013

I finally got around to taking some photos of my new hair colour today! First things first, moving house was so exhausting and I hardly did any of the heavy moving, Yanto, his lovely Dad Arie and Mikki did ALL of it (it took three trips with a moving truck!) and only finished around 1am! I am so thankful for all their help, they helped out of the sheer kindness of their hearts, so when our house is unpacked I am throwing them a much deserved thank you dinner :).

Our house is almost 3/4 unpacked now which gave me a bit of time to take some photos- I am having trouble finding a nicely lit area, and am not terribly happy with the result of today's effort.

My hair is now the lightest it has ever been! It is also in a lot better condition once I started using silicone products again, my trusted hairdresser Amanda was shocked at the condition of my hair when I went to get it dyed. She said "Oh my God, what happened?! Your hair is all hollow and crunchy!" as she gingerly rubbed it between her fingers like it was diseased. I told her about staying off silicone products and she basically told me to do what works for my hair- and my desperately needed smoothing.

My previous crunchy hair *shudder*. See this post if you want to read my experience going silicone free
So I started using my Tresseme again and the condition of my hair has improved tremendously, despite my light colour! I have not styled my hair in any of the following photos- it was left to dry naturally. I am having trouble describing the colour of my hair now because it changes drastically depending on the lighting. Yanto says it's auburn, Steph says it's strawberry blonde and I think it's caramel blonde. However in sunlight, it appears ash blonde.

What do you think?

I copied the lips from Michelle Phan's latest Autumn tutorial for today's look- the ombre lips looked so good on her! I still prefer myself with nude lips though, but it's good to try new things once in a while.

Products used:
Missha Perfect Cover BB cream #23
ZA 2 in 1 pressed powder #23
Maybelline Master Shape brow pencil in Blonde
Naked Palette- shades Toasted and Gunmetal
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rum Raisin
I also used Gunmetal on the corners of my lips

And lastly, this is what my hair looks like in natural daylight- it looks Ash to me! I prefer myself with this sort of edgy look :)

I wish everyone a joyous weekend!
Kine
