Stylenanda 3CE Lip Lacquer #Pink Boom Review

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

I received this item in October's Bntnews beauty box and I was so excited to try it after months of gazing longingly at this exact product on the website! Definitely divine intervention that placed this product in my beauty box.

4. Mix-and-match

Packaging and Impressions

The shade I got was #Pink Boom, aptly named because this is the brightest shade of neon pink I have ever seen! It came in a chic black box marked with the shade color on the top which was the exact color of the lacquer. The applicator is an angled doe foot and is a great tool for applying the product all over the lips as it leaves a crisp, sharp outline as I will demonstrate later in the post. As the color is extremely pigmented, make sure to drag the applicator against the side of the opening to avoid picking up too much product. A little goes a long way.

The color when swatched on the hand and lips is exactly the same as the tube color. You certainly get what you see which is great!

Formula

As many have said before, the texture is similar to the NYX Xtreme Lip Creams, but I find it far less drying on my lips. The NYX product tends to make my dry lips flake after a few hours of wear, plus my lips actually feel and look parched. Adversely, the 3CE lacquer keeps my lips more velvety and soft with no flakes to be seen- hours later I can actually press my lips together and they will still glide over each other smoothly! The finish is definitely soft, matte and vivid as described. Note that the product will stain your lips so you will need to commit to the bright color all day. I am very impressed with this formula as it worked well with my naturally dry and creased lips which tend to hate matte products.

Application

The site suggests to use the product in 2 ways- as a gradient color or a 'point' color, so I have demonstrated both. For those who aren't used to bright lip colors, or want something more subtle for the day I would recommend the gradient look. Exfoliate and moisturize your lips as always, then cover your lips with concealer, pick up some lip lacquer with a finger (better than the applicator) and pat it from the center of lips outwards. Voila! Now you have a bright pop of color suitable for the day.

Tip: I always pair bright lips (any color) with a more dramatic cat eye line.

The second option is to fill your lips all over for a bold look. The applicator is perfect for creating precise, sharp lines! The photo below demonstrates the amazing texture the formula gives my lips- it doesn't emphasize the lip creases at all.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a bright matte lip color! The quality is outstanding and all the product claims were met and exceeded. I give this product a 10/10!

*I received this product for free for review purposes. All opinions are honest and my own.
