Stylenanda 3CE Lip Color #604 Vamp Review and Tutorial

Wednesday, 27 November 2013

I received this vampy lipstick in November's Bntnews beauty box. I am a big fan of Stylenanda clothing and cosmetics, so anything from 3CE causes me to get extremely excited!

The color I received is #604 Vamp, described as a "cool and mysterious bloody burgandy" which "creates a mystical and chic finish."

I adore the artsy graphic printed on the box- it stands apart from the rest of the packaging on the other items I have received which look mature, monochromatic and chic. This looks modern and edgy and perfectly exudes the hip Stylenanda girl lifestyle. The lipstick is boxy, light and feels nice in the hand. It fits perfectly in my acrylic lipstick holder, but may not fit in everyone's (check out fellow Bntgirl Joanne's review) as it is quite large.

I would describe the color as a dark purplish red and looks very different on my lips compared to the model's on the website. In the tube, the lipstick looks very dark, purple and intimidating but when you apply it, it somehow becomes much more wearable than you would think.

As usual, it is essential to exfoliate and apply lip balm before any lipstick. When I first applied it, I was surprised at how smoothly it glided across my dry lips. It is extremely moisturizing and gives a beautiful rich glossy finish! I have worn this lipstick 4 or more times and it stays put through eating and drinking and it does not bleed! It leaves a wine colored stain on your lips which I love because it reduces the need to reapply throughout the day or night. Another great thing about this lipstick is that there is no need for a lip liner, as you can see below it is possible to draw sharp lines with just the lipstick from the tube.

Comparison: note that the color on the lips is more red and vivid than in the tube.
If you don't want glossy lips, simply blot with a tissue to create a stain! This gives a more subdued and sweet look.

I adore this lip stick. Honestly, when I first saw the color I thought it would look terrible on me as I am not a fan of red lips on myself, but this lipstick has changed that perception. When I wear this, I feel like I'm channeling a mysterious femme fatale. I believe that this formula is the best for my dry lips out of all the lip sticks I own. Quite a lofty claim! I highly recommend this lipstick, and for $19 US I think it's worth it seeing as drugstore lip sticks in Australia retail over $20.

Tips and Mini Tutorial
I found that this lip is best paired with a smokey eye. You always hear the 'rule' to concentrate attention on the lips or eyes, never both. I think this rule is better broken when wearing a vampy lipstick. I wore a dark blue smokey eye and think they wear together much better than a nude eye.

Face- I powdered well over my BB cream and applied bronzer to enhance my cheekbones. No blush or highlighter as I wanted a matte face to allow the lips to stand out.
Strong brows are a must, I filled mine in with my Graymelin seven tatoo pen.
Eyes- Gunmetal over the lid and Creep on the outer corners (Naked Palette), wing out a black eyeliner over the top for a simple defined smokey eye. False lashes for extra drama!

Slick Vamp over your lips as the finishing touch to a seductive, sexy look perfect for a night out!

Voila! A simple little black dress draws attention to the face and finishes the overall look.
