Fasio Full Dynamic Long Mascara Review

Tuesday, 7 January 2014

I purchased this product from Japan for around $12 because I have had a fairly good experience with Fasio mascaras in the past. I am a fan of really long, out there lashes that resemble fake lashes because well... If I'm going to use mascara, it might as well look smashing!

This mascara claims to lengthen, separate and hold the curl in your lashes. It is also waterproof, fragrance free and contains fibers to extend your lashes to new hieghts. Find out more on the translated Fasio website.

As with most Japanese products, it's firmly packaged in a plastic box (which I hate because of the waste of resources! My bin is chock full of these). The mascara is housed in a curvy black tube with metallic pink writing, a sophisticated change from my fat colorful tubes of Maybelline mascaras.

The wand is quite long which I find allows for less control of the relatively large brush. The brush is curved which means that you use the concave side first to build volume (lacking in this product) and then the convex side to build length. I quite like the brush as the tiny bristles are able to grab heaps of mascara fibers and manage to coat ALL of my eyelashes.

Adversely, the formula is not particularly enjoyable to use, yet provides great results. It's quite dry and crunchy and makes a 'crispy' sound as I zig zag it through my eyelashes, as opposed to the other fiber mascaras I have tried which are quite inky and wet. I feel as though the tube will dry out quite fast.

This is my eye sans makeup. Although my eyelashes are quite long for an Asian (more than 1cm), they point downwards in a stick straight fashion. After careful curling with my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, here are the results.

I must say, the results are impressive. This mascara holds curl magnificently and does everything it claims to do- my lashes are evenly seperated, curled and relatively long! My eyelashes do feel crunchy, but the feeling doesn't bother me. With eye makeup applied, using this mascara makes my small eyes look huge due to the massive curl factor.

The main downside to this product is that some fibers will fall off during the day onto your face. It's not a lot- maybe 1 or 2 every few hours, but it is noticeable. Removal, the bane of Japanese mascaras, is easy with my HG Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser.

The pictures speak for themselves. If you are in need super curl support and lengthening fibers, try out this mascara! It does everything it claims and I recommend it for stubborn, straight Asian lashes.

I hope you enjoyed this review and that it was helpful!
