Verikos Choc Choc Lip Tint in Camila Orange Review, Perfect for Chinese New Year!

Thursday, 23 January 2014

Lip tints are great for on the go students like me as they provide a staining color that lasts all day. My one problem with lip tints is that they are usually not very moisturizing and tend to make my dry lips drier. Let's see how this beautiful bright orange tint from Verikos goes!

Claims
This lip tint claims to be an all-in-one lip gloss and tint that provides vivid color and excellent endurance. It comes in 3 shades: Kristen burgundy, Amanda pink and Camila Orange. I am quite glad I received the orange shade as it has the most summery feel of them all!

Packaging
The tint is housed in a solid, matte black tube with a colored stripe which matches the color of the product. The top twists off to reveal an angled doe foot applicator which picks up just the right amount of product. All in all a very sophisticated and graphic design.

The Product
The tint has a creamy and soft texture reminiscent of Stylenanda's Pink Boom lip lacquer but slightly more watery and less opaque. This color is very buildable and you can either wear it as a wash of color for a natural look or full point color for a glamorous look. My lips feel wet and glossy after application and 20 minutes later the color stains and turns matte.

Bare lips prepped with Brilliant's lip essence.
One coat of tint applied in a gradient style.
2 coats of tint applied all over the lips.
I went all day without applying any other products and traces of orange were evident in the creases of my lips at nightfall! As I have quite plump and lined lips naturally, I do have to take care to reapply this during the day to avoid patchiness. The tint is definitely more moisturizing than my Etude House tints (Color Pop tint and Cherry tint) and is more long wearing. To prevent my lips from feeling dry, I apply a lip balm and top up the color twice a day. Now for some photos!

Gradient orange lips are perfect for day time! I love how natural this shade of orange looks, yet the color is still bright. It adds a much needed pop of color to my face and I think it makes me look more youthful.

This next look just screams Chinese New Year. Two coats of the tint provide a very opaque finish and turns the color from orange to an orange based red! These gorgeous bright lips are the focus of the look, just pair with a neutral eye and voila- you can be sure your lips are going to last through all the eating!

Overall
I love this lip tint for its versatility in transforming your look from day to night. The color is amazing and suits my tanned skin tone very well. Touch ups are needed less often than a normal lip gloss and in a busy day, that makes one less thing to worry about! I highly recommend this product. I love it!
