Caolion Pore White Cake Pack Review

Wednesday, 19 March 2014

Today I have a Caolion's Pore White Cake Pack to review! This is the first Caolion product I have received in my Bntnews beauty box and the second pore tightening pack I have received, the first being Tony Moly's famous Egg Pore Pack, which worked extremely well on my nose.

The packaging is grey and cream and is quite plain. Unfortunately, all information on the box is in Hangul so I researched the product online to find out its purpose. The mask is supposed to give your skin 'elasticity, pore tightening, moisture and brightening properties'. It also provides 'wrinkle care' and exfoliates with orange peel, rice and buckwheat powder whilst giving a cooling sensation.

There is an illustration on the inside of the box that tells you to leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.

The product I received is only 30g and the tub is very small considering it's a full face mask, however, it is also available in a much larger 100g size on Ebay. I must point out that I love the 'Where is Pore?' text on the lid! Never mind the terrible grammar, I find it really cute!

As you can see, the texture of the mask is extremely thick and grainy and you need to use a lot in order to cover your whole face. Judging from the dent I have made in it with 2 usages, I would say that this small tub would last you around 5-6 applications. The mask smells like oats and something else... Perhaps a citrus scent? I can't put my finger on it, but I find it quite pleasant. The cooling sensation in the mask is extremely strong and begins from the second you apply it, all the way until you wash it off! It feels invigorating and definitely refreshes the senses.

I left the mask on for half an hour and the mask remained moist. It does not pull and tighten your skin as most pore packs do.

Sit back relax, enjoy the snacks!
The mask was slightly cumbersome to wash off as face masks tend to be. My skin was tingling and felt really comfortable and not dry at all which is most unusual for a pore pack mask! Unfortunately, as good as my skin felt, I did not notice much visual improvement in my skin.

The most difference occurred on my nose where there was a slight reduction in the black build up in my pores. I feel that the Tony Moly Egg Pore Pack showed better visual results, but this pore pack felt better and did not dry out my skin.

Overall, I would be more inclined to use the pore pack that yields visual results than one that made my skin feel good. However I do really enjoy the unique cooling and moisturizing sensation this pack provides. I will probably continue using this in conjunction with the Tony Moly pack but I probably would not repurchase this. You can find the 100g version on Ebay here for $21.50 USD.

  1. Is it weird that I think you're totally gorgeous even with a face mask on? Hahaha. You have great skin already it looks like so I think this can't help much anyway :P maybe the difference would be bigger on someone with horrible pores. Thanks for reviewing :D
