Stylenanda 3CE Under Eye Flash Review

Monday, 17 March 2014

Today I'm here with an interestingly named product, Stylenanda's 3CE Under Eye Flash in #6 African Sunset! What is an under eye flash you might ask? I asked the same question. My first thought was that it would be a light shimmery color for creating aegyo sal, and thus only used under the eyes.

According to the website, the product will "brighten and add depth to your eyes" whilst also being long lasting and waterproof. The soft creamy texture minimizes eye irritation, plus African Sunset is a 'burgundy brown' color. Basically it's an eyeliner with a fancy name!

The packaging is chic and very typical of Stylenanda, I adore how every product design is so consistent throughout the range, right down to the font. This is how you build an iconic brand! I was pleased to note that the colored tip at the base of the pencil twists to elevate the eyeliner. No messy and time consuming sharpening with this product, a pet peeve of mine. I noted that the pencil is a few centimeters shorter than your average eyeliner, and hence will contain less product.

True to the claims, this pencil is extremely soft and creamy and pigmented. It glides across the skin like butter and thus does not pull or tug at the delicate skin around the eyes- only one swipe is needed because the color payoff is ridiculously good. When first applied the eyeliner can be smudged and blended, but it sets within a minute and does not budge. I was pleasantly surprised at this because the formula was so creamy, I expected it to smudge easily. The color is a lovely orangey bronze with micro gold glitter that has a beautiful shimmery, pearlescant finish. Bronze is one of my favorite colors to use on my eyes because it's flattering for my tanned skin tone. The shade not too light or dark, making it perfect for defining the under eyes without looking heavy.

I tested out the longevity of this eyeliner through a 37 degree day followed by a karate class which saw me dripping with sweat. This eyeliner did not smudge or flake at all. Now that's impressive!

The only negative I can think of is that the eyeliner itself is quite thick which = thick lines. Personally, this is not a problem for me as I need a thick dose of eyeliner if I want it to be visible on my eyelids.

I (rebelliously) applied the under eye flash on my upper and lower eyelids to show how it looks with my brown eyes. I further defined the upper lash line with a thin line of black eyeliner.

Overall this is a great eyeliner. It's pigmented, soft, creamy, waterproof and lasts through sweat and exercise tears. It does not flake or smudge and is a really beautiful color! The only real gripe I have with it is the name- it's misleading, plus why only use it under the eyes when it looks great on the eyelids! This is a quality product and retails for $12 USD on the Stylenanda website. As a student, I would not pay that much for an eyeliner, however if you have the $$ to spend- I would happily recommend this product!

  1. Your eyeliner looks SO good with the double lining and on top/bottom. I never realized it could be used to make monolids stand out more. Ahh I'm so jealous, how gorgeous you are :)

I'd love to try this, but why is it so thick? O.o Aegyo-sal intended? Hmmm.

    1. It's because I'm too lazy to put eye shadow on these days because exams are coming :P. I think the lighter colors can be used for aegyo sal- this particular color looks like one of the darkest shades. I think I look weird with aegyo sal! Thank you so much for your lovely comments xx

    1. Thanks Joanne! I've been quite lazy with my makeup these days (exam time is to blame) so I've been using heaps of liners instead of eye shadow ^^
