Etude House I'm Blooming Brightening Wash-Off Gel Review

Monday, 28 April 2014

I received this product as a gift from Etude House Global for giving my honest opinion on the Magic Any Cushion in a survey, so thank you very much Etude!

The gel is supposedly 100% organic and natural (the ingredients don't look all organic to me... But hey, I appreciate more natural ingredients over less) and contains flower and plant powder to remove dead skin cells. Skin is left smooth, supple, milky white, healthy-looking and 'blooming'.

The packaging is very sweet as usual- being an ex design student, I'm particularly drawn to the 'I'm Blooming' font. Super cute!

I always appreciate a squeezy tube over any other packaging in the shower for convenience.

The instructions state to apply the gel after cleansing on a slightly wet face. Massage for 2-3 minutes and then rinse off.

The gel is thick and translucent and contains little clear beads that are only apparent when you start massaging the product into your skin. I find the thick gel formula quite pleasant and slippery on the skin and the beads are extremely gentle, providing a light exfoliation. This product would be a good exfoliant for sensitive skin. There is a very mild scent that reminds me of glue! Why does this flower themed gel not smell like flowers!?

The gel by itself.
Mixed with a little water. You can now see the beads.
The gel washes off completely and does not leave a film. My skin is left feeling smoother and relatively more hydrated than usual, which is great for my dry skin. This scrub is really gentle, so your face will not look like a scrubbed tomato afterwards. I can't say anything for the whitening properties but really... If whitening products actually worked, my face would be albino! So I will not hate on the product for not whitening my skin.

Overall I quite like this gentle exfoliant for my dry, sensitive skin and I have been happily using it 2-3 times a week after my Etude House Baking Powder cleanser in the morning. However if you are looking for a deep exfoliant, look elsewhere.

  1. I like to exfoliate my skin once in a while too! Thanks for reviewing this product :)

    1. Yes, exfoliating is so important for my dry skin which goes horribly flaky when I don't take care of it :(.
Thanks for your comment Mich! xx
