Lavshuca Candy Bon Bon Lipstick review

Sunday, 27 April 2014

I picked up these adorable mini lipsticks in Japan for around $10 in two of the three finishes (color type, shiny type and glow type) available. From the red 'color type' section I picked DR-1 and medium pink 'shiny type' section I picked RS-3.

These lipsticks are the smallest I own and are around 3/4 the size of a regular lipstick which is perfect for your travel/carry bag. I also like the small size because I may actually have a chance of finishing these babies! I must say I prefer the translucent case of the deep red as it looks more classy.

RD-1 is a deep burgundy red and RS-3 is a cool toned medium pink with plenty of shimmers. As you can see I'm partial to the pink shade because it's a super pretty daytime shade for natural feminine look.

The formula is dry and tends to tug a little on my lips (the pink more so), however when I'm wearing it my lips don't look dry! It takes a few coats to achieve an opaque color and feels extremely lightweight on the lips. There is no notable bleeding due to the dry formula. I would not call the lipstick 'drying' but it does not provide any extra moisture to the lips. I don't particularly like how these feel on my lips and tend to prefer something slicker.

Due to the sheerer application, the dark burgundy shade appears patchy and somehow 'dated' which is why I do not use it much. On the other hand, I love the pink color for it's clear and shimmery finish which I find helps to blur the deep creases on my lips, making them appear smoother and more even. I do need to top it up with a moisturizing lip gloss though, as my lips start to feel dry within a few hours. Overall, I do like the finish of the pink color.

I super dislike this color and finish on me!
I much prefer the pink.

Personally, I wouldn't repurchase these again because I prefer my dry lips to literally feel coated in gloss/moisture. I didn't exactly hate these but I definitely wouldn't recommend them. You can purchase these on Ebay for $12 AUD here.

  3. I'm not a fan of the red color, but the pink one looks so pretty on you! It reminds me of how the Dior Addict Lip Glow looks on some people.
