Leaders Insolution Premium Care Calming Dressing Review

Saturday, 28 June 2014

The second of the 4 masks I tried from Bntnews was the leaders Insolution Calming Dressing Mask from the Premium Care line. I was really looking forward to using another Leaders Insolution product after my brilliant experience with the Collagen Lifting mask.

The Calming Dressing mask is for sensitive skin and targets these skin conditions: large pores, excessive sebum and redness. It also helps calm acne breakouts. My skin does fall into the sensitive category but I do not have problems with large pores, sebum, acne or redness; instead my main concerns are dehydration and dullness. Thus straight off the bat, this mask would not be my pick for my skin type.

The Premium Care packaging is a lot larger and more clinical looking than the Collagen mask.

The instructions state to cleanse, tone and then attach the mask to your face. This is the first mask I've tried that comes sandwiched between two sheets of waxy paper. I'm not sure what the purpose of the paper is, I'm assuming it preserves the serum in the mask better? You are supposed to peel off one side of paper, attach the mask to your face and then peel off the outside layer. I found it to be a little fiddly, but I got there in the end.

This mask is a lot thicker than any other sheet masks I've tried and it is extremely saturated with serum! Despite this, it didn't drip once during the 25 minutes it was on my face. It adhered to my face incredibly smoothly with hardly any air pockets or wrinkles at all, exactly like the Collagen mask. It also has the same pleasant 'gummy' smell.

After I removed the mask and massaged the excess serum onto my face and neck, my skin felt a little dry which is understandable as the mask is supposed to control excess sebum. I did have to apply extra moisturizer, especially as it's Winter time here. The before and after photos showed no difference which is why I did not post them, then again I do not have problems with large pores or redness in the first place. My skin did feel slightly smoother after this mask.

I believe this is a good product, and would work very well if you do have oily skin, large pores and redness. It simply didn't work well for me because I have a completely different skin type and concerns to what this mask targets!
