Faith in Face Truly Waterly Cleansing Water Review- Fantastic for Dry Skin!

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

So far this month's Bntnews box has seen a few misses for me. So I'm glad to report that this cleansing water by Faith in Face is a definite hit and my favourite product for this month!

Here's some information about Faith in Face:

Established in 2009 by five cosmetic experts from Korea, Canada and the U.K., Faith in Face boldly asserts that it's here to "save your face." Rather than promising to change one's face or touting a miracle cure, Faith in Face focuses on bringing out the hidden individual beauty of each woman with its high-quality cosmetics and masks. Faith in Face seeks a balance between natural and chemical ingredients, and offers beauty-enhancing products at affordable price points. The retro-inspired packaging echoes the brand's back-to-basics approach. - Yesstyle website

Claims:
Removes stubborn lip and eye makeup with minimal irritancy.
Contains Saponaria Officinalis Leaf extract, a natural agent for highly effective cleansing.
In blended with a mix of various plants and flowers giving your skin a soft and fresh feeling.
Can also be used as a toner.

The packaging is super retro, very reminiscent of Benefit and Soap and Glory products. I admired the packaging from every angle because it gives off such a fun vibe! This product really is a joy to the eyes.

The bottle is translucent with pops of bright colour all over. The font choices are perfect, everything is easy to read and the bottle remains punchy and playful even without the packaging.

"Love me tender, cleanse me true
Water for cleansing, not for drinking"

The instructions say to soak a cotton pad with product before wiping your face clean of makeup. As much as I dislike using cotton pads, I find this method the best for instances where you need to remove skin make up, but not eye makeup. I do this when I need to remove my BB cream before karate training, leaving my eye makeup alone- gotta look presentable for the karate boys!

To remove my eye makeup, which can sometimes be very heavy with multiple coats of Maybelline waterproof mascara, I simply pour the cleansing water on my hand and work it over my eyes. This really allows me to break down the hardened mascara, something a cotton pad cannot do.

Here's an example of how it works on 2 kinds of waterproof eyeliner and a generous, fully dried swatch of waterproof mascara:

After rubbing with my fingers, here is the result:

Some problems I have had with makeup removers in general include the product: stinging my eyes, severely dehydrating my skin, not removing all my makeup and being difficult to wash off with water.

This cleansing water does not do any of those! It washes off really easily with water without stinging my eyes and viola, close to 100% of my makeup is removed. The thing I love most about this product is that my dry skin is left feeling super moist and bouncy- I don't even need to top my skin up with moisturiser before I go to training!

This cleansing water lives up to its claims. It removes all my difficult makeup and leaves my skin refreshed and very hydrated, qualities that are extremely hard to find in a makeup remover. As you can see, I've posted a picture holding the product which means it rates extremely highly in my books! I would highly recommend this product and would love to try more from Faith in Face!

You can buy this cleansing water from Yesstyle for $18 USD, which is a bargain considering the size and effectiveness of this product. Try it, you will not be disappointed!
