LoveShoppingholics Vassen Fynale Naomi Grey Circle Lens Review + Cute Bow Headband!

Monday, 12 January 2015

When given a choice of circle lens colour, when in doubt pick grey! That was my motto when given the choice out of Vassen's new Fynale Naomi range from LoveShoppingholics.

The Naomi range contains a brown, grey, green, blue, red and violet lens. I'm not bold enough to try a violet or red lens yet, maybe next time?

I was sent a beautiful package of circle lenses, a cute pink bear case and a big, fluffy butterfly headband! The headband is definitely squeal-worthy and would make the best gift for a girly girl.

Origin: Korea
Diameter : 14.5mm (enlargement effect 16mm ~18mm)
Water Content : 45%
Base Curve : 8.6mm
Life Span : 1 year disposal

I usually try and stick to 14mm diameter for a more natural look because I don't have big eyes, but figured .5mm would not make much difference.

Here are some of the promotional pictures for the Vassen Naomi Grey lens.

On the model, the lenses look extremely opaque. Let me tell you that in real life, this is not the case at all! The lenses are actually very sheer and you will definitely be able to see your natural iris underneath the lens.

The lenses are extremely thin- only slightly thicker than a disposable translucent lens, and are basically clear lenses with a subtle pattern printed over the top. There appears to be a lot of warm brown tones through the lens, but the overall effect is a very cool grey when worn.

There are positives and negatives to this type of translucent, thin lens. The positive is that they are extremely comfortable! As usual, the first wear was uncomfortable for my right eye which has always been more sensitive to contact lenses. I ended up taking them in and out about 4 times before my eye settled. The second and third wears were a breeze and I did not feel these lenses in my eyes AT ALL!

The negative is that my iris was very visible underneath the lens. If you have light eyes, this effect will be much less noticeable. I thought that this would bother me, but I actually think they look ok in real life and in pictures. It gives a very cool ice queen effect, so don't go for this design if you want a natural look!

Another notable factor is that the description is quite right in saying these 14.5mm lenses give the effect of 16-18mm lenses! As you can see there is hardly any white sclera to be seen on my eyes and in turn, my eyes look huge!

From the selfies you can see how translucent the lens is. Overall, I think these are the most comfortable circle lenses I have ever tried. I can wear them for 6-8 hours without feeling a thing! However, the visibility of my irises is a let down. Perhaps the Naomi brown would have been a better choice for this line. Overall these would score a solid 7/10 based on comfort and appearance.

And moving along to my new favourite item in my bathroom, the fluffy butterfly headband! I'm not sure why it's termed a 'butterfly' headband. Looks more like a giant bow to me!

The whole thing is made of soft, furry fleece and the band itself is fully elasticised. The quality is fantastic. My only complaint is that it was very tight on my head (and I have an average sized head!) the first few times I used it, but it has since stretched a little with use.

I received the purple pink version, but there is a blue pink available too. The gold embroidery says 'melly sanco' which is actually a Japanese brand that makes headbands. Upon comparison of products, this headband looks better quality to be honest.

I love this headband so much! It's so much easier to use than a velcro wrap headband because you simply just pull it on and off. I reach for it every time I wash my face or use a face mask. It makes me so happy!

You can get the butterfly headband at LoveShoppingholics for $7.99USD.

I'd like your opinion on this type of translucent circle lens! Love it or hate it?
