isoi Bulgarian Rose Blemish Care Serum Re-Review
Saturday, 28 February 2015
I have mentioned this product twice on my blog before and I was happy to see it for the third time in my Bntnews beauty box. My thoughts on this product was that it was a good, light delicious smelling serum. However it did nothing for mine (not that I had much) or my sister's acne.
As I've mentioned before, my skin has changed drastically due to hormonal changes. It is no longer dry, but oily and acne prone and I now have dark scars and clogged pores all over my T-zone. I'm amazed (and horrified) at the swift demise of my skin. Hence this re-review will be telling you guys how this product reacted with my 'new' skin type. The result wasn't pretty.
The serum contains rose oil to promote moisture, clarity and whitening properties in the skin. It also contains Asiatic pennywort extract which enhances recovery from acne and treats and calms active blemishes. The main function of this serum is to prevent and treat blemished skin.
This is how much I used in 10 days, with twice daily applications. As you can see, the serum disappears quite fast.
Everything about the packaging is gorgeous, from the weighty frosted glass to the purple pink colour!
The serum is light and smells like delicious turkish delight, which I absolutely love. It spreads quickly and absorbs within a minute, leaving my skin feeling a bit taught. I tried this serum as my sole skincare item after cleansing for 10 days, morning and night. During this time I visibly noticed my skin deteriorate before my eyes. I continued using it because I thought no way this blemish care serum could cause blemishes!? Plus it didn't break me out before?
At the end of the 10 days my skin was a mess, with blackheads and clogged pores covering my forehead and chin. I stopped using the serum and changed up my skincare routine drastically and my skin is (very) slowly recovering. Wish me luck.
Overall, I don't know what happened! This product worked well with my dry skin and I had no pimples whatsoever. Considering the lightness of this serum I would usually recommend it for oily skin, however it clearly did not work for me.
I can't recommend this serum, having bad skin is terrible enough. A product that exacerbates it is simply heartbreaking, no matter that it didn't affect me before.
Have you ever used a product and liked it, then used it again later and hated it? I would love to know!
