June 2015 Bellabox Unboxing and Thoughts
Sunday, 14 June 2015
Bellabox is an Australian subscription service that brings you the best in beauty every month. The idea of Bellabox is to provide you with great product samples so that you can try before you buy the full size! The June Bellabox contains some familiar and new brands such as: Aveda Burt's Bees, Jean Patou, Original source and Universal Beauty Cosmetics.
The June box costs $17.95 and is available for an extremely limited time (till June 17th) for new members only. Get it here!
Ah the Bellabox is so bright and cheery! One of the products was too big to fit inside the box, so the products came in a bigger, brown Bellabox (not as pretty), but I really appreciated that the signature blue box was sent as well. All future boxes are usually sent in the blue one!
There are 5 products in the box, 3 full size and 2 sample size.
AVEDA Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment Sample
I generally like receiving hair treatments because I know I will use them up at some point whether it be at home or on holiday. I remember using an AVEDA lip balm years ago and loving it, so it's nice to see the brand pop up again!
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E and Peppermint
Ah what a classic! Everyone knows the quality and effectiveness of Burt's Bees lip balm. In fact, my current go-to lip product is their tinted lip balm! This one is translucent, which is a bit boring, but it makes my lips tingle and smells so deliciously minty. Boring or not, I know I will get good use out of this quality balm.
Universal Beauty Cosmetics Tint Stick in Siren
"Promises 10 hours of non-feathering & transfer-proof wear. Argh. Cracked, dry lips are the bane of our existence during winter. Not only does it brighten up your look (& day), it also contains skincare ingredients to help relieve your pout."
I was most excited to try this tint out of all the products because it a tint made for dry lips! I usually can't wear tints because my lips are naturally cracked and lined. I love the cute packaging and little mindful quote on the tube. The pen dispenser is extremely unique, it is made of a stiff, flexible foam that flicks back and forth over your lips on application. The formula is quite thin and inky and does look patchy at first, however I just kept going over my lips until the color evened out and voila, perfectly smooth, hydrated lips with hardly a hint of dryness (except in the corners). Because of the thin, film-like texture, the stain is incredibly long lasting and you will just need to top up the moisture during the day with your Burt's Bees lip balm!
Joy Forever Jean Patou Perfume Sample
"Eternal, rich and elegant, Joy Forever is a voluptuous floral bouquet composed around the mythical accord of Jasmine and Rose blended with Orris and Orange Flower".
Perfumes always sound delicious, however if you've been a long time reader you'll know that I generally dislike all perfumes because they give me a headache. Most girls do wear perfumes, so I can definitely see how a sample size would be useful as perfumes are expensive. This is probably the only item I won't use in the box.
Original Source Pineapple and Coconut Oil Moisturising Shower Gel
This flavour and scent of this shower gel is right up my alley and makes me crave a beach holiday even more than usual! Just look at that bright, mouth-watering colour! I have already used this twice and it lathers up well on a loofah and smells absolutely amazing. However I wouldn't term this as moisturising because my skin feels as dry as usual emerging from the shower. It's a shame it isn't creamier and more nourishing because then I would absolutely love it! I will continue to use it all up though because it's good looking and nice smelling. It also makes me start singing 'If you like Pina Coladas' which is always a plus.
Overall, I liked the items in the Bellabox much more than I thought I would! Subscription boxes are always risky because there is a high chance of getting items that are not to your personal taste. However, I found this box to be quite universally appealing and I think many girls would get some use of these items.
Would you be happy receiving these items?
PS. A bellabox subscription costs $15 a month and you will receive a selection of products matched to your individual beauty profile. The bellabox team source, trial and approve every product, every month, and only partner with essential, cult and luxe brands so you only get the best in beauty. Plus, you can cancel at any time.
