Keep in Touch Water Lip Tattoo Review
Wednesday, 21 October 2015
Following the Keep in Touch (KIT) blending cushion review, here is my thoughts on their water lip tattoos! I have dry lips so I am always quite wary of lip tints because more often than not, they are drying. I am totally a gloss or balm girl, but these tints claimed to be hydrating, so read on!
The water lip tattoos come in 3 shades: 01 Scandal Pink, 02 Some Orange, 03 Play Red.
'The weightless formula leaves lips stained, soft, hydrated and refreshed upon application with intense color'.
The colours are very bright and typical of Korean lip tint colours. I've said it before, but I wish brands would make some lip tints in more neutral colours. I would love a brownish nude tint! Out of these, More Orange is my favourite because it goes the best with my tanned skin.
The doe foot applicators are standard, although I find they pick up a bit too much product for a sheer tint of colour. The tint formula is moderately thin and is best spread over the lips using a finger. I would not call them watery at all. The finish is slightly glossy but turns matte a few minutes later when it stains. When my lips are properly prepped and exfoliated the tints really stain my lips and do not come off when I rub my lips with a tissue or rub them with water. They last around 4 hours before my lips start to shed and peel off (normal for me), making the colour patchy.
Scandal Pink- is a very cool light pink-fuchsia which will flatter pale skin. The formula is more drying than the orange and red and unfortunately it doesn't suit my skin tone at all.
More Orange- is my favourite of the bunch and is a true, bright 'pumpkin' orange! It really reminds me of Halloween. I am surprised at how wearable it is and have worn this shade the most. In these photos I used the KIT cushion to cover my lips before applying More Orange. This created a beautiful pastel shade which I found to be cuter and more wearable!
Play Red- is a bright red that leans a little towards the orange side with my skin tone. I do like this shade and think it will match light and medium skin tones.
For me, the most important aspect of a lip tint is its hydration properties. These are much more hydrating than the Etude House cherry and colour pop tints, but less hydrating than my favourite Too Cool for School glossy blaster tints. However, I do think the problem lies with my lips as they are just too dry and creasy for most tint products! Therefore, if you have no problem with regular Korean lip tints, these are fine and you may even find these hydrating.
Overall I give these a 7/10. They are not the best tints I have tried, but they are far from the worst.
You can purchase these on Gmarket for a great price of $7.78. Unfortunately this product is only available for domestic shipping in Korea. Hopefully these will be available to international buyers soon!
