The Face Shop Dual Veil concealer Review (New favourite!)
Sunday, 20 December 2015
Hi everyone! It's tough to get the motivation to blog during the festive season because there are 101 things to do, but I snuck this chance whilst my SO is napping before our hectic day of last minute Xmas shopping. This year we are going the DIY gift route! Think gingerbread men, paper crane earrings and home made soap. Not only is the gift hand made and personal, they are so much fun to make!
Today's review is on the Face Shop's dual veil concealer. After my shocking experience with a cheap china version (review here), I bought the dual veil from the Roseroseau Ebay store for $12.23 AUD. I just had a really great feeling about this concealer even before I bought it!
The stick concealer covers spots and imperfections and the liquid concealer is for 'wide' areas. As the liquid concealer is a few shades lighter than the stick, it is perfect for brightening and concealing under the eyes.
It's great that this concealer comes in 3 shades:
V107 Ivory Beige
V201 Apricot Beige
N203 Natural Beige
Of course I got the darkest shade, N203 which matches my super tanned yellow skin perfectly. I'm talking so perfectly that sometimes I forget to blend in the stick congealer because I literally can't see it on my face once I swipe it on!
The only complaint I have about the liquid concealer is that it runs out much faster than the stick. 3-4 weeks into using it and I feel that I am really scraping the bottom of the tube to get enough product out to conceal my under eyes. The liquid portion needs to be MUCH larger in my opinion.
Here I attempted to cover up the stains left from the Keep in Touch lip tints. You can see that the coverage is excellent and that both concealers adhere to my skin really well, leaving a matte finish.
Under eye circles be gone! The liquid concealer is so easy to blend with a flat foundation brush or flat top brush. Also, the texture is thicker than it looks here. On days where I need more under eye coverage I use the stick concealer first before the liquid.
Here I used it over BB cream, but recently I have been spot concealing before I apply my base so I can blend the two in one go and get a smoother result, especially when my skin is dry. If any areas need extra coverage, I simply apply another layer. Again a flat top kabuki works the best. I have to say that I like the stick concealer better than the liquid because spot concealing is so precise and the coverage is bomb! Because it matches my skin tone so well, I can literally dab the edges of the concealer with my finger to blend and leave the centre basically untouched for maximum coverage.
I highly recommend this concealer! I use it every day and will certainly purchase back ups because the dual function is so convenient, the shade is PERFECT for tanned skin and the coverage and blend ability are excellent. I always use powder to set and have had no issues with coverage or cakiness throughout the day.
Will you be picking this one up? (YES you should!)
